The Kentucky Birth Records office has on file birth certificates from 1911 to present.

This office has no records of births occurring prior to the above date except delayed records of births for persons born before 1911 which have been established by affidavits and documentary evidence.

You can purchase a certified birth certificate by:

• by mail
• off the Internet
• or by visiting the office>/ul>Please allow up to approximately 30 working days for processing of all type of certificates when ordered through the mail.

  Information needed to obtain a certificate:

  1. Full name at birth of the person for whom the certificate is requested
  2. The month, day and year of birth
  3. The county of birth
  4. The mother's maiden name
