Louisiana Birth Records

The Louisiana Birth Records office has records for 100 years past the date of birth.

These records are confidential for the first 100 years.

Birth records are available beginning July 1914.

If your request is for genealogy purposes it is best to request the long form as it provides more details.

With your request include the full name of the person for whom the certificate is requested, the month, day and year of birth, the city and parish of birth, the mother's maiden name, the father's name, your relationship to the registrant and your name, address and daytime telephone number.
