Here is some information and details on where and how to obtain certificates that you may be looking for.

Between 1867 and 20 December 1908, records were kept by the probate court of each county.

There is NO statewide index to records prior to 20 December 1908.

  1. Walk-in - Same day service is available to walk-in customers. This is the fastest way to obtain a certificate. When you arrive, you will complete an application and pay the $16.50 required fee.

  2. Mail - Turn around is estimated at 2 to 3 weeks from the day the request is received. However, people are urged to allow sufficient time for delivery for all records. Mail a check or money order of $16.50 for each certificate.
